Air Purification

Air Purification and Gas Treatment

AquaCarb Global LLC offers advanced activated carbon solutions for air purification and gas treatment, effectively adsorbing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), odorous gases, and pollutants.

Activated Carbon has a long history of use in air purification and odor removal processes. With its high surface area, activated carbon efficiently adsorbs and traps unwanted molecules in the air within its pores. ICGL & ACPL manufactures high-grade virgin and impregnated activated carbon designed to adsorb dioxins, mercury, and heavy metals from flue gases. Activated Carbon is a proven adsorbent in waste-to-energy, hazardous waste, and clinical waste incineration plants.

Applications

  • HVAC systems
  • Air filters
  • Industrial emissions control
  • Odor control
  • Indoor air quality improvement

Industrial Air Purification

Activated Carbon is widely utilized in various industries where air treatment is necessary. It is a proven adsorbent for flue gas cleaning, waste gas treatment, and compressor air treatments. In the incineration process, such as municipal solid waste, hazardous industrial waste, medical waste, and sewage sludge incineration, flue gases are generated. These gases often contain dioxins and heavy metals like mercury and cadmium, which can be effectively removed using specially designed Activated Carbon.

Applications

    • Flue gas cleaning
    • Municipal solid waste incineration
    • Industrial and hazardous waste incineration
    • Medical waste incineration
    • Sewage sludge

Breathing Air Purification

ICGL & ACPL manufactures high-grade impregnated and virgin Activated Carbon for personal protective equipment. Activated Carbon plays a vital role in protecting against toxic gases. Gas masks and respirators containing Activated Carbon are widely used in warfare and industrial sites. Our specially impregnated Activated Carbons effectively remove toxic gases such as hydrogen cyanide, cyanogen chloride, phosphine, and arsine. ICGL & ACPL also ensures that its respiratory Activated Carbon is chromium-free.

Applications

  • Industrial masks
  • Military masks
  • Underwater breathing

Acid Gases

Industrial activities often result in the emission of toxic acid gases, posing a significant environmental challenge. To address acid gas contamination in the air, high-grade impregnated Activated Carbons are widely used across industries worldwide. Acidic agents in these gases can cause damage to sensitive electronic equipment and valuable materials in museums.

We offer a diverse range of Activated Carbon suitable for acid gas adsorption. Our specially manufactured high-grade impregnated carbon is effective in removing foul odors emitted from sewage water.

Applications

  • Hydrogen sulfide removal
  • Libraries and museums
  • Landfill gas
  • Corrosive gas contamination

Cabin Air Filter

Activated Carbon is extensively utilized in room filters, particularly in cabin air filters, to adsorb formaldehyde found in carpets, wood paneling, and furniture upholstery. These substances can trigger allergies, especially in individuals with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). Activated Carbon effectively removes chemicals from household cleaning items and perfumes.

Cabin air filters incorporating Activated Carbon as an adsorbent can efficiently eliminate odors, organic compounds, sulfur dioxide, vehicle exhaust fumes, and other polluting gases within the cabin

Radioactive Contamination Removal

Activated Carbon is a proven adsorbent in air purification processes, finding applications in various industries that require air treatment. It is effective in flue gas cleaning, waste gas treatment, and compressor air treatments. During the incineration process of municipal solid waste, hazardous industrial waste, medical waste, and sewage sludge, flue gases containing dioxins and heavy metals like mercury and cadmium are formed. Specially designed Activated Carbon can effectively remove these contaminants.

Tobacco Filters

Tobacco smoking poses significant health risks, with cigarette smoke consisting of thousands of compounds. To reduce the intake of toxic gases during smoking, filters made of cellulose acetate are commonly used. Incorporating Activated Carbon into cigarette filters is well-known for its selective reduction of many vapor-phase smoke toxicants.

Various methods are employed to incorporate Activated Carbon into cigarette filters, including multi-component filters with plain cellulose acetate at the mouth end. In dual filters, a filter segment containing Activated Carbon is combined with cellulose acetate.

Activated Carbon derived from different carbonaceous materials can be used for manufacturing cigarette filters. The performance of the carbon depends on its pore volume and pore size distribution. Steam activation is a common method to increase the carbon’s activity. Activated Carbon made from coconut shells, specifically steam-activated coconut shell-based activated carbon, is considered the best material for manufacturing cigarette filters. Coconut shell-based activated carbon offers high microporosity, hardness, and abrasion resistance.

Our wide range of activated carbon products provides effective solutions for acid gas removal, cabin air purification, radioactive contamination removal, and tobacco filtration, ensuring cleaner and healthier air for various applications.
